Pinellas County, Florida · Fuze Inc. · Licensed roofing, electrical & building contractor
Getting a new roof in Pinellas with solar on it? The panels have to come off and go back on under their own permit, by a contractor licensed for solar. We do that work with our own crew, pull the Pinellas permit, put every roof attachment on new, and hand you a photo report when the system is back online.
How permits work here
Pinellas County Building and Development Review Services
Unincorporated Pinellas files solar under the Solar permit type, Photovoltaic subtype, in the Access Portal, with plans and the electrical diagram uploaded and fees paid online.
Most of Pinellas is inside a city, and nearly every city issues its own permits: St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Oldsmar and others. Palm Harbor and most of the north county beaches are unincorporated and go through the county.
Inspections are scheduled through the same portal once the permit is issued.
Because so many Pinellas addresses fall under a city, the first thing we do is confirm which office issues your permit. That one step is where most delays in Pinellas come from. Permit requirements change; we confirm the current checklist with the issuing office on every job.
The sequence
We file the solar permit as soon as your roofing contract is signed, then remove panels, wiring and racking the day before or morning of tear-off. Everything is labeled and staged.
Your roofer works under their own permit. One scheduler on our side tracks the roof's final inspection with them and with you.
All-new attachments and flashings, panels and wiring back, solar inspection passed, system tested and producing the same day. Photo report delivered.
Where we work in Pinellas

Pinellas questions
It depends on whether you're in a city or unincorporated county. St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Dunedin, Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs all have their own building departments. Palm Harbor and other unincorporated areas use the county's Access Portal. We check your address and file with the right one.
Yes. Your roofer pulls the roofing permit. The solar detach and reinstall needs its own permit from a licensed electrical or solar contractor. If no one pulled a solar permit, the reinstall was unpermitted.
Yes, on every roof penetration we make, countywide. It's the same warranty on every job we do.
